Stonebridge Project

I’ve been working with a client over the past few months to design a few custom cabinetry additions for her home. These include a coffee bar in her kitchen, a wall of built-ins for her living room, and a storage cabinet for the primary bedroom. Never underestimate the value of thoughtfully designed cabinets - they make all the difference! They also require perseverance to get the MANY details right. We’ve been reworking the design, considering various materials, obsessing about stain colours… you get the picture.

She also intends to update some light fixtures, add backsplash tile to her bathroom vanities, and replace bedroom furniture down the road. Here’s a look at a few details. The style is organic modern - warm wood tones, subtle texture, and clean, simple lines.

I love the rounded corners on the bedroom furniture - a small detail that really elevates the look. We’re also looking into repeating this detail with the living room built ins. (It’s always a good idea to repeat elements if you can.)

And yes, I do give a lot of thought to any design work I do for clients. I want each client to feel like I’m giving their project 110% of my effort and creativity. That’s when good things happen. (It also means I lose sleep obsessing over details, BUT it’s totally worth it.)
